We are so glad we opted to take this bike tour round the wineries of lovely Franschhoek. The guiding and equipment are first class, and the leisurely way of travelling (in our case in a small group of 4) means you really see the inside of the valley. Nothing too strenuous, but at a pace that lets you breathe the air, enjoy the scenery and get away from the roads. The four stops (and 4 is enough!) are well-selected. The first, at Rickety Bridge, is close to the start (so a chance to make sure the bikes are ok - mine had a slight issue and was quickly replaced - top service!) and the wine at this estate is very good indeed. Next on the gravel out to La Bri, one of the oldest in the valley, and with a wonderful view from the tasting balcony. Good combo of reds and biltong (or chocolate!). Next on to Mont Rochelle for more wines and the most incredible lunch basket that totally exceeded all expectations. The final stop was at Grande Provence, with its stunning sculpture collection and MCC with oysters in the shade. A perfect way to end. All in all, a superb day out. We will be telling all our friends to give the crowded tram a miss and do the Franschhoek valley in the environmentally friendly way! Totally recommended!
